La Orotava, Tenerife, 22nd June 2017. Annual Corpus Christi celebrations when the local people make carpets from flower petals, seeds and sand in the streets and plazas of La Orotava. Many of the carpets depict scenes from the life of Christ and the main sand carpet in the town hall plaza this year shows the pope with an old peasant lady alongside Christ, Moses, God and a white dove in it's central picture. ©Phil Crean
